Jaantus promotes data storytelling, open data, collaborative accountability and solutions journalism through support with experts, fellowships, training, data and digital tools.Established in May 2022, we're an independent nonprofit media development organization with a mission to support quality public interest journalism in Somalia.Our vision is to become a world class hub to harness the data revolution in Africa for media innovation.

What We Do
Our mission is to strengthen local media and journalist’s capacity to access and use open data, design thinking, data visualization, and digital tools to fuel high quality data-driven journalism in Somalia. We do this through media training workshops, data storytelling community of practice, fellowships and open data activism.
